Blue Ray Electronics

BD Bluray disc is specifically engineered to allow high density storage making it the most reliable and efficient optical disk format. The major difference between the DVD and Blu-ray technology is the laser that is used for reading & writing information on the disc media. Laser used in Bluray disk format is blue-violet and red laser in the DVD media format. Blue-violet laser is more advantageous than the red laser and allows more data to be packed in the same physical space. Wavelength of blue-violet laser is very shorter than that of red laser light. The area on which the laser focuses is called the “spot size”. Blue-violet laser’s shorter wavelength reduces the spot size.
Shorter wavelength in Blu-ray media technology enhances the storage density thus assisting the Bluray DVD disc to pack almost five times more data amount in comparison to the capacity of DVD disk. The increased capacity of Blu-ray disk makes it more advantageous and is the major reason for its popularity. Blu-ray media format is the smartest choice for storing high definition video. Bluray disk technology has now become indispensable for future of TV studios, film, data storage, home computing and several other aspects of media storage. Maxell is offering 50GB and 25GB rewritable and write-once Blu-ray media disks comprising of single and dual layers.
